UAE sends warships to Shabwa coast eastern Yemen

SHABWA, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Emirati warships arrived on Thursday at the coast of the eastern Yemeni oil-rich Shabwa province, which is under the control of Islah Party loyal to Saudi-led coalition.

Well-informed sources in the province reported that the UAE deployed two warships off the coast of Mayfa’a, south of Ataq city, the capital of the Shabwa province.

According to the sources, the UAE provided warships to Shabwani Elite militia of the Southern Transitional Council, coinciding with the announcement of the General People Congress (GPC)’s leading member, Awad Al-Awlaqi, returning from Abu Dhabi, about an open sit-in for the tribes in the vicinity of Ataq city.

Military observers considered the move comes with aim of toppling the Islah authorities militarily in the coming days.
