Recent contact between Damascus, Abu Dhabi means recognition of Syria’s victory: Hezbollah

SANAA, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Lebanese “Hezbollah”, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said that the recent contacts between Syria and the UAE “equal to Arab recognition of Syria’s victory.”

He explained in a speech made on Thursday that “the visit of the Emirati Foreign Minister to Damascus is an Arab recognition of the defeat of the project, which some Arab countries spent hundreds of billions of dollars.

On Tuesday, Abdullah bin Zayed, the UAE’s foreign minister, met the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, in a sign to improve relations between the two countries.

UAE was one of the Arab countries that have supported the fighting in Syria to oust Assad since 2014.

While the United States opposed UAE efforts to normalize relations with Assad or restore relations with Syria before progress to achieve a political solution to the crisis.
