SANAA, Nov. 04 (YPA) – US media revealed on Wednesday that India has stepped up its military presence along its border with China, following recent tensions in the region.
According to the “WION ”, India has reinforced its defenses along its border separating Arunachal Pradesh and Tibet, an area of high tension with China, in anticipation of renewed clashes that occurred a year ago, in the Ladakh region, which resulted in dozens of casualties on both sides.
China briefly occupied the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, which Beijing claims as a territory from southern Tibet, in March 1959, during a short bloody dispute.
The Buddhist leader, the Dalai Lama, took refuge in this state, after the failure of an uprising against Chinese rule in his native Tibet, before settling later in Dharamsala in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, where he still resides.
