Over 5 million of illegal, counterfeit currency seized in Taiz

TAIZ, Oct. 30 (YPA) – The counter-smuggling unit of the Police forces branch in Taiz province have seized an amount of 5,136,300 riyals of illegal and counterfeit currency printed by the Saudi-led coalition to harm the national economy.

The police unit said that it had seized 4,678,300 riyals of illegal currency, and 480,000 riyals of counterfeit currency.

An amount of 122,480,000 riyals of the national currency was seized for the contravention of the Central Bank’s circular preventing anyone from carrying more than 100,000 riyals of the national currency when travelling to the areas occupied by the coalition.
