Millions of foreign currency seized in Mahra after being smuggled from Marib

MAHRA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Security authorities at Shehn border crossing with the Sultanate of Oman, eastern Yemen, on Wednesday seized millions of foreign currency smuggled from Marib city.

Informed sources confirmed that the guards of Shehn crossing in Mahra province seized an amount of 20 million Saudi riyals that was in the possession of people loyal to an official in the “Hadi’s government” in the city of Marib, without disclosing their names.

The Hadi’s government officials affiliated with Islah Party continue to loot and smuggle money from the Marib Bank to many cities under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, amid the advance of Sanaa forces, with broad support of the free tribes of Marib, to liberate the remaining areas under the control of the coalition in Marib province.
