Amirabdullahian: We welcome peace and stability in Iraq

TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdullahian said on Tuesday that his country always welcomes peace and stability in Iraq.

IRNA reported Tuesday evening that Amirabdollahian’s remarks came during a meeting with former Iraqi prime minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, in Tehran, describing bilateral relations as a lasting and fraternal friendship.

He praised the moves made during Al-Mahdi’s government aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties, ensuring him that Iran is determined to further fortify is relations with Iraq.

Iran always favors peace and stability in Iraq, and its constructive role in regional interactions, respecting the Iraqi people’s political decisions, he added.
