Hamas says it is ready to conclude new prisoner swap with Israeli enemy

PALESTINE, Oct. 09 (YPA) – The Palestinian movement “Hamas” on Saturday announced its readiness to enter into a new prisoner exchange deal with the Israeli enemy, and to engage in an electoral process to rearrange the Palestinian leadership.

The movement said, in a statement, that its leaders discussed, during their consultations in Cairo with Egyptian officials, many files, most notably the prisoners’ file, the situation in Gaza, and the rearrangement of the Palestinian house.

Hamas confirmed its keenness to complete a new exchange deal that would guarantee the enemy’s response to the requirements of liberating the prisoners, according to the statement.

Earlier, Abdel Nasser Farwana, a member of the management committee of the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority in the Gaza Strip, said that thousands of prisoners are waiting with hope for the exchange deal between Hamas and Israel.

According to Farwana, the occupying entity is holding about 4,500 captives in its prisons, including about 200 children, 38 female prisoners, and 500 administrative detainees, and among the captives, there are about 600 prisoners who suffer from various diseases, without receiving the necessary health care.

Hamas is counting on the Egyptian role to intensify its discussions on negotiating a prisoner exchange deal, and the truce and reconstruction file in the Gaza Strip.
