Military commander loyal to coalition killed in Marib

MARIB, Oct. 04 (YPA) – A senior military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition was killed overnight while pulling improvised explosive devices and landmines from a coalition camp warehouse north of Marib.

Local sources in Marib province told the Yemen Press Agency that Colonel Osama Afarj, son of the commander of the Fatah Brigade, Brig. Gen. “Arfaj Hamad Hadhban”, was killed along with a number of officers and soldiers, while supervising the withdrawal of landmines from one of the warehouses of Sahan al-Jin camp.

The sources confirmed that coalition forces began to plant mines at the entrances to Marib city in an attempt to hinder the advance of the salvation government forces towards the city.
