FM of Israeli occupation inaugurates diplomatic representation in Morocco

RABAT, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid Thursday opened officially a liaison office that serves as his country’s diplomatic representation in Rabat, Morocco’s capital.

This is the first official visit by an Israeli official at this level to Morocco since the normalization of relations between the two countries.

The Israeli minister posted a tweet on Twitter in which he said, “This is a historic moment. We have opened the Israeli representation in Morocco.”

Lapid also announced that he had handed his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita a letter from Israeli President Isaac Herzog inviting King Mohammed VI to visit Israel.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had made a similar invitation to the Moroccan monarch, following the two countries signed the normalization agreement under the auspices of the United States late last year. But the Moroccan side did not announce any response to that invitation.
