Work at Nassib border crossing with Jordan resumed

DAMASCUS, Sept. 29 (YPA) –  Work has been resumed at Nassib border crossing with Jordan to receive the traffic of passengers and goods, Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported.

On Monday, the Jordanian Interior Ministry announced that Jaber-Nassib border crossing on the Jordanian-Syrian borders will be reopened starting from today morning according to the technical and logistical measures related to reopening it for the traffic of passengers and freight.

On August 1st, Jordan decided to temporarily close the Jaber-Naseeb border post with Syria “as a result of security developments in southern Syria.”

The border with Syria is an important artery for Jordan’s economy, exporting Jordanian goods to Turkey, Lebanon and Europe, and importing Syrian goods and  from those countries.
