Coalition forces suffer heavy losses after failed advance in Khanjar desert

JAWF, Sept. 27 (YPA) – The clashes renewed on Monday between the Salvation Government forces on the one hand and Saudi-led coalition forces and elements of “Al-Qaeda and ISIS” organizations on the other hand, in the desert between Jawf province and Marib city.

The Salvation Government forces lured the recruits of the Sixth Military District of the coalition forces towards the vicinity of ‘Al-Khanjar’ camp and some areas in the outskirts of Khub Washa’f district of Jawf before launching artillery attack on the coalition forces, according to the local sources.

Dozens of the coalition troops and Al-Qaeda members were killed and wounded south of al-Khanjar camp due to the attack, the sources added.
