SANAA, Sept. 22 (YPA) – At least nine civilians were killed in an attack by the takfiri group Boko Haram on a village in southwestern Chad.
AFP reported that the attack took place overnight in the village of Kadjigorum in the Lake Chad area, on the borders with Nigeria, Cameroon, Niger and Chad.
Elements from Boko Haram attacked Kadjigoroum and killed nine people and set fire to the village” on Sunday night, regional governor Mahamat Fadoul Mackaye told Agence France-Presse
The Lake Chad begins just 100 kilometers north of the capital N’Djamena, a vast area of water and swamps with inhabited islands, some of which are hideouts of the Takfirist groups Boko Haram and ISIS in West Africa.
The two groups regularly attack the army and civilians there, as well as in Chad and the other three lake-border states.
