ISIS claims responsibility for attackon gas pipeline in Syria

SANAA, Sept. 19 (YPA) –  Takfiri group ISIS claimed responsibility for Friday night’s attack on a power plant in Deir Ali, south of the Syrian capital Damascus.

In a statement, the takfiri group said that its fighters were able to “blow up the gas line between Tishreen thermal stations and Deir Ali”.

On Friday, Syrian Minister of Electricity Ghassan al-Zamel  said  that there had been “an attack on a gas line at Deir Ali station, which led to a total power outage.”

Syrian television quoted private sources as saying that in addition to the attack on a gas line leading to Deir Ali station, there was an attempt to hit two electrical towers in the Haran al-Awamid area of Damascus countryside.
