Islah militants push reinforcements to Shabwa oil fields

SHABWA, Sept. 18 (YPA) – Islah Party backed by Saudi Arabia sent on Saturday military reinforcements to Osaylan district of Shabwa province, according to sources.

The sources said that Islah’s move came to limit the control of the Balharith tribes over the oil fields in the district.

The Balharith tribes responded to the reinforcements in the Masbah area, north of the Osaylan district, amid the tense situation between the Islah militants and the tribes.

Last April, violent confrontations erupted between Balharith tribes and Islah near the oil fields in the district.
