Aden Governor condemns STC militia’s suppression of peaceful demonstrators

ADEN, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Governor of Aden province, Tariq Sallam, on Thursday condemned the use of weapons by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias to suppress peaceful demonstrators in Aden.

In a press statement, Sallam described the ban imposed by the UAE agents and tools on demonstrations as “a declaration of war on the popular will rejecting the occupation and its opportunistic and criminal policies.”

Sallam stressed that “the UAE occupation militias’ use of force, repression, intimidation, arrests and abuse will not discourage the free people of the southern provinces from continuing their legitimate uprising against the invaders and occupiers.”

He considered the uprising of citizens in the southern provinces a legitimate right guaranteed by local and international laws.

The governor called on the free people of the southern provinces to protect the popular demonstrations against the policy of starvation pursued by the Saudi-led aggression coalition.

He held the STC militias fully responsible for all assaults and violations against the demonstrators in Aden.
