Military situation steps up in Nishtun port of Mahra

MAHRA, Sept. 09 (YPA) – A military situation has been escalated between the Saudi forces and guarding of the Nishtun port of Mahra province, east of Yemen.

According to sources at the port, the Saudi forces tried on Thursday to stop work in the port, after they tried to prevent the unloading of one of the commercial ships carrying cars.

The sources pointed out that the port’s guard refused the Saudi forces’ intervention, which led to verbal altercations with the Emirati forces.

The Saudi forces have been seeking to disrupt the Yemeni ports and land outlets and to turn Al-Ghaydah Airport in Mahra into a British and Israeli military base since the beginning of 2017.
