Tribal gunmen besiege Al-Arada’s house in Marib

MARIB, Sept. 06 (YPA) – Heavy clashes broke out between tribal gunmen near the house of Marib governor in Hadi government, Sultan al-Arada, who is affiliated with Islah party.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on tribal sources.

The clashes coincided with the escalation of divisions among the tribes in the province, after the large collapse of Saudi-led coalition forces on the walls of the city of Marib.

The sources confirmed that the clashes broke out in the vicinity of the house of Al-Arada in The Karra area, after Al- Arada sent a campaign of his followers targeting gunmen from the Al Ashram tribe after their tribesmen set up checking points.

Al-Arada asked elders and sheikhs from his Al-Fajij tribe to intervene to stop the clashes, the sources said, noting that armed elements were still encircling the house of Al-Arada.

According to the sources, tensions remain in the area, with al-Ashram militants refusing to remove their new points at the entrances to al-Arada’s house, pointing out that the gunmen submitted a document with several demands. They put some conditions before they withdraw from the vicinity of  the house.
