Commander in UAE-backed militias wounded in Abyan

ABYAN, Sept. 05 (YPA) – A senior commander in the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional Council (STC) was wounded  on Saturday when unknown gunmen opend fires at him in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal , based on sources.

According to the sources, the  gunmen opened fire at Rushdie Noman Haidara, the commander of the 8th Brigade, Thunderbolt, near the Qat market in Zinjibar city.

He was seriously wounded in the attack, one of the sources said, adding that  Haidara was taken to a hospital in Aden in critical condition.

On Friday, a leader of the Security Belt Forces in the same province  Abdul Rahman al-Shinini was wounded near the city of Jaar, Khanfir district, two days after two soldiers of Hadi’s forces were killed in Lawdar directorate.
