Mass rally in Saada marks martyrdom of Imam Zaid Bin Ali (PBUH)

SAADA, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Thousands of Yemeni citizens in Saada province, northern Yemen took streets on Thursday morning to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Zaid bin Ali, the son of Ali ibn Husain, and great-grandson of Ali, who led a revolt against the Umayyad Caliphate, in which he martyred.

The participants carried slogans of freedom against the tyrannical American policy in the region, banners of the occasion and banners calling for a boycott of American and Israeli goods.

Saada Governor Mohammad Jaber Awad stressed, in a speech during the rally, confronting the US-Saudi aggression and supplying the fronts with money and men, whatever the sacrifices, stressing that Yemenis choice is to stand with the believers in the face of tyrants, and to stand with the weak.

The governor of Saada condemned the economic war on Yemen, the doubling of customs, and the printing of currencies without a cover, praising the economic policy in the free provinces, and the elimination of usurious transactions.

A statement was issued at the rally, indicating that  that Yemen is fighting a battle similar to the battle fought by Imam Zaid (pbuh) in confronting the forces of arrogance and hegemony, led by the forces of tyranny America and Israel, and their tools, especially the Saudi and Emirati regimes.

The statement condemned what the forces of aggression and mercenaries are doing in looting the capabilities of the Yemeni people. They loot oil, gas and fish wealth, in addition to cutting the salaries of employees, and trying to create an unprecedented humanitarian disaster by tightening the siege and imposing deadly measures aimed at the collapse of the currency and raising the prices of goods and services.
