Cargo ship heading to Tunisia sank after colliding with Greek islands

TUNISIA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – A Togo-flagged cargo ship sank on Saturday after colliding with Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.

The Greek Coast Guard announced that all 16 crew members of the ship had been rescued, according to “Reuters” agency.

The “Sea Bird” ship was sailing from Ukraine on its way to Tunisia, when it sent a distress signal after colliding with rocky islands in the southwest of the Aegean Sea, according to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard confirmed that three vessels to combat pollution headed to the scene of the accident to ensure that no leakage occurred.
