TAIZ, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The Acting Governor of Taiz province, Salah Bagash, met on Tuesday with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation, Anthony Abi Nader, and the delegation members.
During the meeting, they discussed the province’s humanitarian needs and the possibility of supporting the sectors of water, health and sewage network, and rehabilitation of detention places and reformatories.
Bagash reviewed the urgent humanitarian needs at the present time, especially the rehabilitation of service sectors that have been targeted by the Saudi-led coalition.
He pointed to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in light of the influx of displaced people from the occupied areas due to the chaos, killings, robbery and looting of public and private properties.
The acting governor stressed the keenness of the local authority to provide all aspects of support and facilities to the ICRC delegation to enable it to achieve its humanitarian goals in the province.
For his part, Nader confirmed the ICRC delegation’s keenness to contribute to addressing the humanitarian and health conditions in the province, noting to the importance of resuming the delegation’s activity in Taiz.
