UAE strengthens STC capabilities with drones, lethal weapons

ADEN, Aug. 23 (YPA) – A new batch of Emirati military reinforcements, including drones and lethal weapons, arrived during the past hours in the city of Aden, in southern, Yemen.

Informed sources stated that the shipment of weapons unloaded by Emirati ships in the port of Aden was transferred directly to ‘Jabal Hadid’ and ‘Badr’ camps of the “Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias in Aden.

the arms shipment was transferred from the port of Mocha, which is controlled by the UAE-funded “Tariq Afash” forces, under the direct supervision of the commander of the so-called “joint forces”, Abu Zara’a Abdulrahman Al-Maharami, the sources added.

Other sources indicated that the UAE transferred forces to Aden province and Al-Anad base in Lahj from its brigades on the western coast, in the past few days.

The sources pointed out that among those forces, a special military unit from the so-called “Al-Amaliqa Brigades” led by Abu Zayed al-Saa’di, whose members were trained to use drones in the Eritrean center of Assab.

This comes after the UAE, in the past few days, sent military reinforcements to Al-Rayyan Airport, which has been under the control of Emirati forces since 2016 in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province.
