Civilians killed, wounded in air strike targeting hospital in northern Iraq
SANAA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – An Iraqi security source on Tuesday confirmed the killing and wounding of a number of civilians in an air strike targeting a hospital in the northern city of Sinjar.
The source said, “An aerial bombardment targeted a hospital, likely to be Turkish, within a residential area in Sinjar, in the north of the country, killing and wounding a number of civilians.”
On Monday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of three Turkish soldiers and the injury of two others, when an explosive device exploded in the area of Turkish military operations in northern Iraq, where it was planted by terrorists in the area of Operation Claw of Lightning launched last April against the PKK. It is noteworthy that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi had previously announced his rejection of the PKK’s movements inside the country, and he also renewed his rejection of Turkish military operations in response to the organization that Turkey considers a terrorist entity.
