Syrian President issues decree to form new government

DAMASCUS, Aug. 10 (YPA) – The Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, issued on Tuesday a decree to form a new government following an election in May, according to the official website of the Syrian presidency on Twitter.

According to Legislative Decree No. (206) of 2021, the engineer Hussein Arnous is to be mandated to form the government.

Arnous was appointed as Prime Minister in 2020, and to form national government.

In last May, the Syrian authorities announced that al-Assad won the presidential elections with 95.1% of voters, in order to begin a fourth presidential term.
