Civil Service Ministry: Next Monday is official holiday for new Hijri Year

SANAA, Aug. 07 (YPA) – The Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance on Saturday announced that next Monday, Muharram 1, 1443 AH, corresponding to August 9, 2021, is an official holiday on the occasion of the New Hijir year (the Noble Prophet’s migration anniversary).

The Islamic New Year, also called the Hijri New Year or Arabic New Year, is the day that marks the beginning of a new lunar Hijri year. The first day of the Islamic year is observed by most Muslims on the first day of the month of Muharram.
