SANAA, Aug. 07 (YPA) – “Hezbollah has publicly said that any attack on Lebanon must be met with an appropriate response,” said Sheikh Naim Qassem, deputy secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, regarding the escalation and tension in the south.
“Israeli occupation must understand that it must remain terrified, otherwise we are ready to respond,” Qassem said in a television interview, adding “what Hezbollah has done is a response to aggression, the whole world has seen this aggression and we cannot be silent about it, but whether this aggression grows or not, let’s see the coming days.”
He noted that the party “does not wait for events to get ready.
“We have repeatedly stated that we are ready at any moment if there is any development and any attack by Israeli occupation,” he added.
“We don’t need an incident to take precautions,” he said, “but we don’t think that things are going to escalate, yet Hezbollah is ready on the ground and defends with confidence, decision and determination,” he stated.
“We found in Hezbollah that this response is appropriate, but analyzing the details we can leave it for (Israel) to say what it wants. What Hezbollah has done is a response to an aggression that the whole world has seen that we cannot be silent about,” Qassem said in a statement on Al-Mayadeen TV.
