UN chief names Swedish diplomat Grundberg as new envoy to Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 06( YPA) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has on Friday named Swedish diplomat Hans Grundberg as his new Special Envoy for Yemen

Grundberg has been the European Union ambassador to Yemen, before succeeding Martin Griffiths.

The new UN envoy has something in common with his predecessor in terms of a view of the military conflict and the need to stop it with the common will of his parties, in preparation for peace.
