FM: Coalition collective punishment policy impedes peace in Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 02 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Sharaf, on Monday sent letters to the foreign ministers of the permanent members of the Security Council, as well as the Group of 19 sponsoring the process of a peaceful political settlement in Yemen.

In the letters, the Foreign Minister warned of the media and political deception practiced by the Saudi regime and the so-called government of outgoing President Hadi in Riyadh.

He referred to the economic war and the policy of systematic starvation of the Yemeni people by the continued holding of fuel ships by the Saudi-led aggression coalition countries, while claiming before the world that they are allowing the ships to enter the port of Hodeida.

Sharaf called for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the Yemeni people by releasing the detained fuel ships that obtained UN permits to unload in the port of Hodeida.
