Guard killed in attack on UN headquarters in western Afghanistan
KABUL, Jul. 30 (YPA) – At least one guard was killed on Friday in an armed attack targeted the United Nations headquarters in western Afghanistan.
“Reuters” news agency quoted the United Nations as saying that its main compound in western Afghanistan was attacked by “anti-government elements”, killing at least one Afghan police guard and wounding other officers.
“The area around Herat in which the complex is located was the scene of today’s fighting between the Taliban and government forces,” a statement by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said.
