Iraq recovers 17,000 antiquities from US

SANAA, Jul. 29 (YPA) – The Iraqi Minister of Culture, Hassan Nazim, announced his country recovered about 17,000 antiquities from America.

Nazim said in a press conference at Baghdad International Airport, “The antiquities that arrived in Iraq are from the clay figure, which Iraq recovered and returned to its original land.”

Hewenr to say, “The recovered antiquities came with unremitting efforts exerted by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture represented by the Antiquities and Heritage Authority and the Iraqi Embassy in Washington.”

He added, “Iraq will continue to work to recover the antiquities stolen and looted from the homeland, and they will be displayed in the Iraqi Museum.”
