SANAA, Jul. 27 (YPA) – North Korea announced, on Tuesday morning, the reopening of lines of communication with its southern neighbor, pointing out that the move will play a positive role in improving relations between the two countries.
“Now, the whole Korean nation wishes to see North-South relations recover from setback and stagnation as soon as possible,” the official Korean Central News Agency said.
The North Korean agency confirmed that “all lines of communication between the two Koreas have been restored as of 10 am (local time).”
“Senior leaders of the North and South agreed to take a major step in restoring mutual trust and promoting reconciliation by restoring inter-Korean lines of communication through the recent numerous exchanges of personal messages,” the agency added.
For its part, the South Korean presidency confirmed that South Korea and North Korea reopened the hotline between them, and that the two countries’ leaders agreed to build trust and improve relations.
