Dozens of activists comment on Italian artist drawing

SANAA, Jul. 23 (YPA) – Dozens of activists have commented on a drawing of the Italian artist Giovanni Gasparro on Devil.

The activists circulated on Social media the drawing of the Italian artist, Gasparro, dating back to 2018, showing his perception of the shape of “Satan”.

Activists likened the drawing of the “Devil or Satan” in the painting to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi of UAE, “Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan”, amid news that the UAE had submitted a protest card to Rome regarding the painting, which prompted Gasparro to publish an explanation.

Gasparro republished his drawing on his official accounts, with a clarification, saying: “After thousands of reports received in the past hours, we point out that Giovanni Gasparro did not intentionally portray any known or living person in the form of the devil.”

“Any similarities are completely coincidental,” he added.
