One dies due to rock collapse during art festival in Taiz

TAIZ, Jul. 23 (YPA) – One person was killed and others were injured when large rocks fall on a group of people attending an art festival in Cairo Castle in Taiz city, which is  under the control of Islah party militants, local sources reported.

According to the sources, Khalil Abdo Mohammed Al-Sharif died after being taken to hospital due to the rock collapse on the crowd present at the art festival, which was subjected to a widespread campaign of incitement by extremist leaders.

Others were injured, some still in hospital and others left, the sources said.

The authorities said that a goat  was walking up the mountain, which led to rocks falling on the attendees.

Activists demanded a transparent investigation and linked the incident to the campaign of incitement against the festival.
