ADEN. Jul. 22 (YPA) – A citizen committed suicide Thursday due to difficult living conditions in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, local sources reported.
Media sources reported that local residents found the citizen hanged inside his house in Sheikh Othman district.
The sources attributed the suicide of the citizen to the difficult living conditions experienced by the people of Aden, as the Yemeni riyal has collapsed in the face of foreign currencies in the past months.
Citizens in the southern provinces are living in difficult living conditions as Hadi’s government pumped the local market with new currency printed in Russia without cash cover, and has led to increase food prices as a result of the rise of the dollar to more than 1,000 riyals.
