US army announces arrival of F-16 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON, Jul. 22 (YPA) – The Central Command of the US Army announced on Wednesday that F-16 fighter jets have arrived at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.

The US Central Command explainedو in a tweet on its Arabic page on Twitter Tuesday, that the deployment of these fighter jets comes as part of the employment of dynamic force to enhance its ability to deter aggression and enhance security and stability in its area of responsibility.

It pointed out that “the fighter jets are belong to the 113th Wing of the Air National Guard, or what is known as (the guards of the capital), and one of the tasks of these aircraft is to enhance the defense capabilities of the air base.”

The US Central Command had previously announced, last week, the arrival of “F-18 Hornet” fighter jets, as well as “B1B” strategic bombers, which need a special runway for taking-off and landing.
