Iranian President: Developing relations with neighboring countries is priority

TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (YPA) – Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi on Tuesday said that expanding relations between his country and neighboring countries is the most important foreign policy priority of the next government.

This came during his telephone talks with the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, in which he congratulated him on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and the anniversary of his country’s independence, according to the Tasnim International News Agency.

Raisi pointed out that Iran’s vision towards Turkmenistan exceeds the standards of good-neighbourliness to include the vast capacities available in both countries in order to advance the level of bilateral relations.

He stressed the need for effective dialogue in the context of accelerating the pace of raising these bonds more and more.
