Saudi officer of Kuwaiti origin injured in Jawf

SANAA, June 6 (YPA) – The Yemeni army announced that a Kuwaiti officer was injured during Tuesday’s confrontations in al-Mahashima front in Khab Washaf district of Jawf province, a military official told Yemen Press Agency on Wednesday.

Colonel Falah bin Shafi al-Hajri, who holds also Saudi nationality and nicknamed“ Al-jazeera Colonel”, was seriously injured when the army fighters targeted an armored vehicle of Saudi-led coalition in the front, the official said.

The official also revealed a list of the coalition’s commanders and militants killed by the army fire during the operation.

On Tuesday, the army units carried out a unique military operation in al-Mahashima area of Khab Washaf district, inflicting heavy human losses on the coalition forces and destroying eight military vehicles.

The army fighters also seized Araq, Mazwiah and Bait Masham areas and surrounded Al-Abeed village during an attack against Saudi-backed militants in Mazwiah front in al-Moton district, according to a military source.

The attack resulted in killing 14 militants, including commanders and injuring dozens, the source added.
