Zionist enemy forces break into Al-Aqsa Mosque, assault worshipers

QUDS, Jul. 18 (YPA) -Israeli occupation forces and scores of Zionist settlers broke into the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday early morning, attacking worshipers at the holy site and detaining many of them.

Witnesses said that as of the early morning hours, dozens of Israeli Police officers started raiding the holy site through the Chain and Moroccan gates, before they embarked on beating and assaulting the worshipers attending prayers at the holy site in an effort to make way for the entry of hundreds of Israeli settlers there.

Israeli Police officers also fired stun grenades and teargas canisters at the worshipers and forced many of them out of the holy site due to the intensity of teargas.

The Zionist enemy forces deployed metal barriers in the Bab al-Amoud area in the old al-Quds Jerusalem.

“The deployment of Iron barriers in the vicinity of Bab al-Amoud coincides with large incursions expected to be carried out by settlers on Sunday, to the old Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,” witnesses said.

This coincides with the closure of Bab al-Amud Square, Bab al-Sahra and Al-Masra, in preparation for facilitating the expected incursions by settlers tomorrow.

He called on all the Palestinians to be present at the al-Aqsa Mosque to counter the settler incursions expected today.
