Half of Yemen’s children suffer from acute malnutrition: WHO

SANAA, Jul. 17 (YPA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) affirmed that half of Yemen’s children suffer from acute malnutrition, due to food insecurity.

The WHO said on Twitter that food insecurity and acute malnutrition are a source of grave concern in Yemen.

“One out of every two children is expected to suffer from severe acute malnutrition in Yemen as a result of the aggression.”

The WHO went on to say: In order to reduce the rate of missed treatment and improve the nutritional status of mothers, the organization and the Famine Relief Fund provided a balanced diet to 434 mothers, accompanying malnourished children.

WHO added that it would work with the Famine Relief Fund to provide the free life-saving nutrition services in 92 therapeutic feeding centres.
