Chinese FM arrives in Damascus airport

SANAA, Jul. 17 (YPA) – The Chinese Foreign Minister, Wáng Yì, arrived on Saturday in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The Syrian news agency, SANA, reported that, Wáng Yì, was received at Damascus airport by his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Mekdad, and other officials

The agency stated that the Chinese Minister would meet, during this visit, with President Bashar al-Assad, hours after al-Assad took the constitutional oath for a fourth presidential term.

According to the Russian “Sputnik” agency, revealed that the visit would focus on discussing economic and diplomatic issues of common interest between the two countries, explaining that the talk is about “launching a new phase of cooperation between the two sides.
