Electricity Minister, Iranian Ambassador discuss ways to support electricity sector

SANAA, Jul. 11 (YPA) – Minister of Electricity and Energy Ahmad Al-Ali discussed with Iranian Ambassador Hassan Erlo aspects of cooperation between Yemen and Iran in the electricity and energy sector.

In the meeting, Minister Al-Ali praised the level of Yemeni-Iranian relations at all levels.

“The resistant Yemeni people stand with the Iranian people against the forces of aggression and global arrogance,” the minister said.

Al-Ali addressed the difficulties facing the electricity and energy sector, especially with regard to the collapse of the electrical network as a result of the bombing of the infrastructure by the forces of aggression, in addition to preventing the entry of oil derivatives to operate electric generators and causing them to exacerbate the suffering of citizens in hot areas, especially in Hodeidah. .

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Electricity Abdul Ghani Al-Madani praised the positions of the Iranian Republic and its support for the Yemeni people to alleviate human suffering as a result of the aggression and siege.

Al-Madani pointed to the efforts made to repair transformers and concretes for electricity poles and to restore what was damaged in the sectors of the electrical network.

In turn, the Iranian ambassador praised the level of relations between the two countries, expressing the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to stand by the Yemeni people in various fields, especially the electricity sector.

The ambassador expressed Iran’s readiness to exchange competencies and experiences between the two countries in order to overcome the difficulties experienced by the electricity sectors in Yemen and to provide scholarships for master’s and doctoral degrees to qualify cadres working in the electricity and energy sector.
