Sultan of Oman arrives in Riyadh on first external visit

RIYADH, Jul. 11 (YPA) – Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq arrived on Sunday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on a visit to Saudi Arabia,

It is the first external visit of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq since he assumed his position in January 2020, succeeding the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

The Saudi “Al-Ekhbariya” channel stated, via its Twitter account, that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was at the forefront of those who received Sultan Haitham at Neom Bay Airport.

On Saturday, Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi revealed that the expected summit between Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, which will be held in the city of Neom, will witness the launch of a coordination council between the two countries. He considered that this council will be a framework for many of the agreements that countries intend to sign.
