SANAA, Jul. 10 (YAP) – The Saudi regime has arrested about 52 pilgrims in Mecca city.
An official spokesman for the Hajj Security Forces Command, Brigadier General Sami Al-Shuwairekh, revealed the campaign of arrests carried out under the pretext of entering the mosque in an illegal way and not having obtained prior licenses.
The Hajj security authorities have decided to punish the pilgrims by paying 10,000 Saudi riyals as a fine, according to Al-Shuwairekh.
Saudi Arabia has imposed the harsh procedures for 2021 pilgrimage, allocating it to 60,000 pilgrims out of two and a half million pilgrims who perform its religious rituals annually. This year’s Hajj program did not include expatriates, but was limited to local residents of the Kingdom.
The measures taken by Saudi Arabia against those wishing to perform the Hajj rituals come under the pretext of combating Corona, despite of allowing the presence of tens of thousands to organize singing and dancing parties without any measures.
