General director sentenced to 6 months in Taiz prison

TAIZ, Jul. 06 (YPA) – A former General Director of electricity in Taiz province, Aref Al-Sabri, was sentenced to 6 months in prison by the Public Funds Court for rejecting of the decision to resign, according to sources.

Along with the imprison of the defendant, who was also obligated by the court to pay 50,000 riyals as a fine, with implementing.

A few weeks ago, Taiz governor, Nabil Shamsan, appointed by the Saudi-led coalition, issued a decision to dismiss Al-Sabri, following ongoing popular protests condemning the spread of corruption.
