4 fishermen killed in ISIS attack in Iraq’s Anbar

ANBAR, Jul.03 (YPA) – At least four fishermen were killed and five others injured in an ISIS terrorist attack in Anbar province in western Iraq, the Shafaq News Agency reported late Friday, quoting a Haditha district chief, Mabrouk al-Jughiafi.

“The attack took place across five axes, targeting fishermen at the Haditha district dam, killing four people and injuring five others, all of them judicial fishermen,” Mabrouk al-Jughiafi explained
He said that some of the injured were in critical condition in the general hospital’s intensive care unit.

Officials have previously warned that ISIS activity is growing in many areas in Salahuddin, Kirkuk, Anbar, and Nineveh provinces, mainly in remote parts of areas disputed between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the federal government.

Iraq has been in a very unstable situation for years due to the activities of the terrorist group ISIS, which has lost all territory it has previously captured in the country but continues to launch attacks across the Arab state.
