Hundreds protest against corruption in Taiz

TAIZ, Jul. 02 (YPA) – Hundreds of citizens performed Friday prayers in front of the Taiz province building, in continuation of the protests demanding the change of the corrupt in the de-facto authority.

The protesters at a protest rally denounced the continued ignoring by the local authority and towards their demands, which they came out for two months ago.

Earlier, Taiz governor, Nabil Shamsan, appointed by the Saudi-led coalition, had dismissed a number of office managers and some of them were transferred to the prosecution on the charge of corruption, but most office managers rejected the governor decision.

Taiz city is witnessing popular protests as a result of the economic deterioration and the rise in prices because of the continued printing of local currency by the Saudi-backed Hadi government.”
