Acting Minister of Human Rights calls on UNICEF to fulfill its duties towards Yemeni children
SANAA, Jul. 01 (YPA) – Acting Minister of Human Rights, Ali Al-Dailami, called on UNICEF to assume its responsibility in addressing the Security Council and the UN Secretary-General on crimes and violations committed by the Saudi-led coalition against children and women in Yemen.
This came during his discussion in Sanaa with UNICEF Representative, Philippe Doumel, aspects of joint cooperation to enhance protection and care programs for children and women.
During the meeting, Al-Dailami handed over a letter from the Ministry of Human Rights to the UNICEF representative concerning its denunciation of what was stated in the report of the UN Secretary-General, which removed the coalition from the list of the violators of children’s rights.
Al-Dailami referred to the ministry’s efforts to ensure protection for all segments of society, especially women and children, who have been exposed to grave violations by the aggression coalition over the past six years.
