NABLUS, Jun. 27 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces on Saturday evening attacked dozens of Palestinian protesters taking part in the ongoing protests in the village of Beita, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, against Israel’s construction of a colonial outpost near the village.
Several injuries were reported as a result of the Israeli military attack on the protesters, according to medical and local sources.
The residents of Beita and the surrounding villages have been holding weekly Friday rallies to protest the construction of the new colonial settlement of Givat Eviatar atop Jabal Sabih as well as the seizure of lands belonging to the villagers of Beita, Huwarra, and Za’tara to inaugurate a new settler-only bypass road.
The town of Beita has been the scene of daily clashes for nearly two months, as part of a protest against the establishment of an outpost on the top of Jabal Sabih.
