SHABWAH, Jun. 25 (YPA) – Supporters of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Friday rallied to the city of Abdan in Nisab district in the southern oil-rich province of Shabwah.
Ahmed Saleh al-Arabi, a member of the so-called National Assembly of the STC called on Shabwah’s sons to gather and march on Saturday to revive the festival called by the STC last Sunday, in protest against the continued violations by Islah militants against citizens in the province.
According to informed sources, during the past hours, al-Islah militants have set up a number of military checkpoints on the Nisab road to block the arrival of participants in the festival, and have deployed a number of military vehicles in addition to BMB armoured vehicles in the vicinity of Abadan city.
The sources pointed out that dozens of “STC” masses went to the city of Abadan on foot, cutting off the reefs and valleys, after closing some roads leading to the Directorate of Nisab.
