SANAA, Jun. 25 (YPA) – At least 12 German troops operating under the UN mission were wounded in a car bomb attack in northern Mali on Friday, Sputnik reported.
According to Sputnik, the attack was carried out by a car bomb and that all the soldiers were of German nationality.
The car bomb attack Friday morning on a temporary forward operating base of the UN mission in Mali, known by the acronym MINUSMA, occurred near the village of Ichagara, in the northern Gao region.
In a Twitter post, MINUSMA had earlier said 15 peacekeepers were wounded in the attack.
MINUSMA strongly condemned the attack.
This is the second car bomb attack within a week in Mali country, and another explosion targeting France’s Barkhane force last Monday injured six soldiers.
